What is kava?
Haven’t heard of kava? Kava is made from the roots of a pepper plant native to the South Pacific. It has a fascinating earthy yet numbing taste, that results from the high level of calming actives in the roots.
Natural kava is vegan, gluten-free, nonaddictive, and full of liver protecting properties.
How many servings
All of our jars have a scooper. 1 scoop is between 170mg - 300mg+ of kavalactones depending on the blend or varietal.
This is more of a guidance since all kava's have different experience profiles.

Is kava safe
Kava is generally recognized as a safer/healthier non-addictive alternative to alcohol as long as it is consumed in the traditional form.
For this reason we generally DO NOT recommend non-traditional methods of using kava such as: pills, concentrates, ready-to-drink made with concentrates, tinctures, and micronized kava. These are convenient but aside for the last one, they shouldn't be called kava. In the same way you don't put caffeine in a pill and call it coffee, you shouldn't put extract in a soda can and call it kava.
Traditional kava has not been shown to be addictive in clinical trials and does not activate physiological or psychological addiction tendancies found in beverages and supplements like alcohol or kratom.

To preserve these nuances we have micro-lot batches when we find something unique worth exploring.

about kelai
As connoisseurs of our kava will all agree, Kelai is quite an intense experience. Imagine our Wakea blend, but bigger.
The subtle nuances of our Reserve Kelai batch 03 unfold like a Panaewa blend with the heft of a Bir Kar for an experience unique to it's own. Initially it greets you with a creamy nuttiness and mild numbing, then expands to a warm open minded awareness of presence and perception.
This one HITS
Batch 03 lot hails from the Vanuatu's SouthEast region on the island of Epi. An untouched paradise, this kava grows on extremely fertile volcanic soil with natural ash embedded into the light subsoil. Here the kava roots can grow freely, unobstructed and can pull from the abundance of key nutrients that can act as a stimulant for the plants growth.
Those nutrients really did something with this one. I'm hoping the next plants in this series can live up to the name as well.
We processed this one raw so the flavors are more prevalent and the nuances to the experience are kept intact. Closest thing to a cup of raw juice outside of hopping on a plane to Vanuatu itself

about bir kar
Our Bir Kar is grown in a secluded lush region of Espiritu Santo where the soil is light and very nutrient-dense. This kava varietal itself is a truly delightful experience acting more like a premium eastern pacific varietal than a traditional Vanuatan kava. It sports a nutty-like aroma and dark red stems that come about as the plant matures over the years.
We believe this fine version is a classic example of the varietal but leaning a bit more toward the headiness side, which we thought fitting to round out our reserve series. It is quick and potent, providing a clean headiness and heavy relaxing effect.
Like the rest of our raw kava's, this is freshly harvested then squeezed of it's raw juice. The closest thing to a fresh cup of raw kava juice outside of hopping on a plane to Espiritu itself!

Our recent batch of borogoru introduced a new dimension of light mental clarity and focus I haven't seen in borogoru's before. It reminded me of the underlying ceremonial purpose of kava for both the body and the soul.
Borogoru is a beloved kava variety from Vanuatu known for its well-balanced, substantial characteristics. This mellow and soothing kava offers a slow and deep-acting experiences. It's calming style unfolds a complexity not often seen in similar more potent strains.
This one is most suitable for solitary introspection, exploring deep mental expansiveness, or simply relaxing the muscles after a strenuous activity.

drinkroot instant kava starts with a careful selection of either single origin harvests or a hand selected blend of the top noble varietals, to create a unique premium mixture.
After harvest, every amalgamated batch of roots first undergoes a strict QC analysis to ensure premium kavalactone characteristics and content to match your desired experience profile.
The proprietary blend is then carefully brewed and homogenized in a closed temperature controlled environment with warm filtered water to mimic traditional brew methods. After juice is pressed it is rapidly dehydrated so it can be immediately added to any liquid without any filtering needed!
