raw kahuna

This is a rare breed we received from our friends who run a generational family farm out on the islands. They got their hands on this rare hanakapi'ai varietal a couple decades ago and have been working off cuttings from the first plant ever since. The varietal is exceedingly rare, and it was said to be reserved only for the chiefs, the kahuna's. So naturally we nick-named it the kahuna and the name stuck.

On the tongue this kava (awa) is very palatable. It is a delicious fresh celery juice with a hint of mint. Effects are more on the cerebral side, heady, clean. Heavy in the anti-anxiety but light in the body. Can be used for daytime or pre-evening time but we don't recommend drinking right before bed.

This kava comes from a single plant and was processed raw with the fresh green juice squeezed from its roots.
