In my 20's I was working long hours... and binge drinking.
I'm not gonna lie, it was fun. But it took a massive toll on my body, my work, my mind, and the relationships with people I cared about the most. One day after returning from a trip during the holidays to see my late grandparents, my mom mentioned over the phone I wasn't being myself anymore. It's like I wasn't mentally there. She was right. That was the last straw.
I discovered kava on accident one fateful morning and fell in love with the calming and euphoric experience. I was finally able to unplug and destress while more importantly, staying present with the people I cared about the most.
What originally started as a side project to scratch an itch, has blossomed into one of the most recognizable kava brands in America. At drinkroot, we understand the frustrations you have with finding and brewing a proper grog.
We spent countless months sourcing the best, and of course,
drinking gallons of good and bad kava so you don't have to.
Our dream is to spread the love of kava and make it accessible to everyone.

I am trained in Inferno Hot Pilates. My favorite types of yoga are hot, yin, and sometimes vinyasa. If I am not working out on the mat, I am out on a hike with my beloved dog Sombra. My next travel destination is Japan, maybe South Korea, and perhaps Monaco for an F1 Grand Prix!
